STUBS

Rules

Short, because the contract is the rulebook.

01

Markets

  • Every round opens Friday 20:00 UTC and settles the next Friday 20:00 UTC.
  • Each market is one question: will the price of a bStock or BNB be above or below the strike at settlement.
  • Markets are curated. Four to six per round. Strikes are set near the price at open so both sides have a real chance.
02

Tickets

  • A ticket costs 0.01 BNB. Buy as many as you want, on either side, any time before close.
  • Each ticket is an ERC-721 on BNB Chain. The image is generated by the contract from the ticket's own data. No IPFS, no server.
  • Tickets can be transferred or sold at any time. Whoever holds a winning ticket at claim time gets the payout.
03

Settlement

  • At close the contract reads the price on chain. bStocks use a time-weighted average price from their PancakeSwap pool over the final window. BNB uses the Chainlink BNB/USD feed.
  • Above wins if the settlement price is strictly greater than the strike. Otherwise below wins.
  • If a price source is unavailable at close, the market is cancelled and every ticket on it refunds its stake.
04

Payout

  • Parimutuel. The losing side's pool is split among winning tickets pro rata, after a 3% house fee on the winnings.
  • Example: 4.21 BNB in the pool, 2.64 above and 1.57 below. Above wins. Each 0.01 BNB above ticket gets back its 0.01 plus 0.01 / 2.64 × 1.57 × 0.97 = 0.0158 BNB.
  • Winning tickets are stamped PAID with the amount. Losing tickets are stamped VOID. Neither is burned.
05

House

  • 3% of winnings, nothing on refunds, nothing on the losing pool itself. The fee goes to the STUBS treasury.
  • No fee on transfers. Marketplace fees are the marketplace's.
06

Risk

  • This is a bet. You can lose the whole stake. Odds move until close, so the payout you see when you buy is not the payout you get.
  • Thin pools pay strange odds. A single large ticket can move them.
  • Not available where betting is illegal. Use a wallet you control.
